Life within Emerging Universe

Come to the Water & Share the Poetry of Mary Oliver
“For poems are not words, after all, but fires for the cold, ropes let down to the last, something as necessary as bread in the pockets of the hungry.  Yes, indeed.”   - Mary Oliver
Rene Rousseau-Wilson, Diane Torello-Moger and Sue Wolfe will guide participants in exploring and appreciating the poetry of Mary Oliver during a collaborative experience of listening, being and responding.  No previous knowledge of Oliver’s poetry is necessary.  Simply bring a spirit open to the beauty of her messages and writing.  Sue, Rene and Diane are avid students of poetry and of Mary Oliver’s in particular.  Join them at the Moger’s home on Lake Huron for an evening by the water.  Location information will be given at time of registration.

The Subtle Energy of Water
The matrix of life is life itself.  What is life?  How do we measure it?  Life is an observable phenomenon that nevertheless can’t be entirely explained.  The subtle energy of water is the carrier of that life.  Join Sheila Magyar, who is awed by the sacred beauty of energy in all its forms, in an exploration of water’s mysteries. Sheila completed a Masters in Culture and Spirituality in 2010.

Dancing Waters
“Water stirs something very deep and ancient in the human heart.  It satisfies us in a more intimate way than the other elements.” -  John O’Donohue
Throughout this retreat season, water has bathed us in its mysterious power directly and through science and the arts.  Enter with relish the intimate recesses of your being to remember how water has touched your spirit. Let the memories pour out in conversation and in the experience of moving to the rhythms of selected Dances of Universal Peace. These simple circle dances, from various cultures and faith traditions taught on the spot by FC Staff, are charged with joy and the power of transformation.  What a marvelous way to be empowered to act in water’s name.
